Estate Executive Housekeeper
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estate Executive Housekeeper to oversee the daily housekeeping operations, household inventory, and presentation of a luxury private estate. This role is responsible for ensuring the residence operates with the standards, consistency, and attention to detail of a five-star luxury hotel while preserving the warmth and comfort of a private family home.
Reporting to Estate Management, the Estate Executive Housekeeper will lead and support one Housekeeper while overseeing all aspects of household readiness, inventory management, maintenance coordination, and housekeeping protocols across the main residence, guest houses, coach houses, and other estate buildings.
The successful candidate is exceptionally organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a passion for creating beautiful, impeccably maintained homes. They anticipate needs before they arise, establish efficient systems, and take ownership of the overall condition of the estate.
Key Responsibilities
Estate Housekeeping & Property Presentation
• Oversee the daily housekeeping operations across all estate residences and buildings.
• Ensure every space is maintained to exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
• Conduct routine inspections of the property to ensure the home is consistently guest-ready and principal-ready.
• Develop seasonal cleaning schedules, preventative maintenance plans, and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure every room is fully prepared, beautifully presented, and operational at all times.
Household Inventory Management
• Develop and maintain comprehensive inventories of household goods, linens, bedding, towels, tableware, pantry items, beverages, cleaning supplies, amenities, and household essentials.This may extend to inventory and record management per room, and any additions to each room.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively replenish supplies before shortages occur.
• Ensure the family’s preferred pantry items, beverages like coffee are replaced, and fresh foods are fully stocked prior to each arrival.
• Replace coffee on a three-week rotation to maintain freshness.
• Ensure coffee machine and grinder is cleaned routinely (bi-weekly or monthly)
• Rotate pantry items and monitor expiration dates.
• Maintain bottled water inventories throughout the main residence, guest houses, coach houses, and additional estate buildings.
• Ensure ice supplies are consistently available at each residence.
• Maintain organized storage areas with clearly documented inventory systems.
• Minimize waste while ensuring the estate is always fully supplied.
Household Maintenance & Estate Care
• Take ownership of the overall condition of the residence and identify opportunities to preserve and enhance the home.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance concerns, cosmetic deficiencies, or housekeeping issues before they become larger problems.
• Coordinate carpet, upholstery, stone, wood, and specialty surface care to maintain the highest standards of presentation.
• Manage projects such as stain removal, fabric restoration, seasonal refreshes, and specialty cleaning.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel and external vendors to ensure repairs are completed promptly and to the highest standard.
• Track maintenance requests and follow projects through to completion.
• Ensure household equipment, furnishings, artwork, fixtures, and finishes are properly maintained and cared for.
Systems & Protocol Development
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve estate housekeeping procedures and service standards.
• Create detailed checklists, inventories, operating manuals, and arrival/departure protocols.
• Establish consistent systems for stocking, inspections, reporting, maintenance follow-up, and quality control.
• Build efficient household routines that ensure consistency regardless of occupancy.
Leadership
• Supervise, train, mentor, and support one Housekeeper.
• Schedule workloads and assign daily priorities.
• Lead by example while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence.
• Ensure all housekeeping tasks are completed to the highest standard.
Estate Readiness & Hospitality
• Ensure the estate is fully prepared for the family’s arrival at any time.
• Anticipate the family’s preferences and proactively prepare the residence accordingly.
• Coordinate with other household staff to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Support special events, guests, and seasonal transitions as required.
• Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications
• Minimum five years of experience in executive housekeeping within a luxury private residence, estate, boutique hotel, or five-star hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing household inventories, luxury furnishings, and estate operations.
• Experience creating household systems, procedures, and operating standards.
• Strong understanding of luxury home care, specialty cleaning methods, and preventative maintenance.
• Proven leadership experience supervising housekeeping staff.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between estate properties as required.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Can assume a normal range for this type of role.
