We are currently seeking a General Manager for a Boutique, Waterfront Resort, picturesque Southern Coastal Community in British Columbia.

Our client is a well-known boutique Resort Hotel. The Resort is expanding and growing and Newly Renovated! This is a year round position, summer being the peak season, with busy conference and corporate business, shoulder seasons.

The Hotel includes a local, popular Restaurant and Lounge operation, featuring authentic & contemporary, local Pacific Northwest cuisine. With an emphasis on farm-to-table philosophy, the Chef has created a very well functioning network with local farms & fisheries to take advantage of top quality seasonal products.

We are looking for an inspired General Manager who believes in success through commitment and pride to join this beautiful Waterfront Resort.

This Resort caters to a combination of tourist, corporate clients and wedding functions in a beautiful harbor front setting. The General Manager’s primary function will be to enhance guest experience while increasing brand recognition in local and international markets.

The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of all related areas of the Resort. The General Manager will be in charge for the strategic planning, financial forecasting, crew satisfaction deliverables and overall guest satisfaction. This inspirational leader is responsible for driving, communicating and supporting all departmental processes within Hotel Operations and is also accountable for positively influencing the Operations through an effective leadership approach.

Key Accountabilities

  • With a hands-on approach, manage, direct and take part in all aspects of resort daily operations to deliver exceptional resort experiences for guests, employees and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the business of delivering exceptional resort experiences by maximizing revenue and minimizing costs in all areas.
  • Oversee, manage, direct and take part in all aspects of Accommodations, Events, Gift and Food & Beverage Services
  • Build, engage and empower a strong service oriented team and create a positive work environment at all times.
  • Implement and continuously improve systems, standards and processes for resort management, measurement and control.

Develop and implement annual operating plans including financial forecasts, service strategies and operations delivery

Qualifications

  • Executive or Upper Level Management upscale Hotel/Resort experience
  • business administration degree or equivalent
  • Excellent management, negotiating and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results;
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years as a full service Manager preferably at a Resort
  • Food & Beverage management experience considered an asset
  • Working knowledge and use of current technology including MS Office and property management systems
  • Experience in financial control, planning and reporting in a hospitality environment

Dietzel International is currently seeking a

LODGE MANAGER & ASSISTANT MANAGER

for a private, Waterfront Sport-fishing Lodge

Gulf Islands in British Columbia.

 

Our client is a well-known Fortune 500 Company.

The objective of the lodge is to provide a quality sport fishing experience for the company executives and their guests.

Other available activities include bocce ball, golf (two short holes), nature walks and area wildlife viewing.

The Fishing Lodge operates from approximately mid-May through September.

A normal season may include from 20 to 35 individual two-night trips. A trip typically includes two company hosts and six of their invited guests for a total of eight people.

These are full-time, year round positions and the focus of the remaining part of the year is on managing & maintenance of the facilities.

 

DUTIES:

Lodge budget preparation and accountability.   Purchase of materials, equipment, parts and services for all aspects of lodge. Maintenance of all lodge mechanical systems. Arrange and supervise fishing guides. Operation of small boats. Interface with guests to ensure their needs are met and trip expectations are filled. Supervision of lodge staff.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

All aspects of small boat operations.   Handy-man skilled in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems (generators, pumps, kitchen appliances, small boats, piping, lodge electrical, water systems, heating systems).   Budget management experience.   Outgoing, personable, people-oriented.   Possesses the willingness and ability to accept resident position in remote, isolated location.

 

Lodge Assistant Manager

The Lodge Manager position is partnered with the Lodge Assistant Manager. As a team, all aspects of the operations must be covered.

The Lodge Assistant Manager / Chef is responsible to oversee lodge “house” or internal operations,

The position is a full time, year round position. The Lodge Assistant Manager / Chef reports to the Lodge Manager.

 

The Lodge Chef’s responsibility is to deliver Lodge dining services with quality expectations for service. Dining service includes breakfast, lunch and dinner service for guests and staff, and can range from very formal dinner settings to casual lunches, for typically a total of eight people.

If required, there is potential to hire a chef during the summer season to assist in the meal preparations.

As a team, all aspects of the operations must be covered. Living arrangements are provided.

 

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

 

Must be able to submit verification of right to work in Canada upon hire. Powerboat squadron qualification and certification required. General Handyman skills required. Prior lodge or inn management/operation desired.
