Director Food & Beverage for larger City Resort Hotel

We are currently seeking a Director Food & Beverage for a larger City Resort Hotel in a major Metropolitan City, location in central Canada.

Our client is a City Hotel with multiple Food & Beverage outlets and we are looking for an established Director Food & Beverage with a background in luxury Hotels with multiple Food & Beverage outlets.

Position Summary

The ideal Candidate is a very active and involved leader, experienced in management of multiple people in a multi-outlet operation, preferably a 4 or 5  Star Hotel and/or upscale multiple restaurant group experience.

The Director of Food & Beverage creates the vision and direction for the F&B department. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who possesses superior communications skills as well as a passion for the Hospitality Industry and lifestyle.

This role requires a solid background in multiple level Restaurant Management, Banquets and Events.

The Director Food & Beverage maintains high standards of quality, service and operational systems to maximize profits. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: the selection, hiring, training and development of team members, oversight of departmental administration, implementation of effective control of inventory and labour costs.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ Years experience in the Food & Beverage Industry, 

4 or 5 Star Hotel and/or multiple restaurant group experience.

Minimum 5 years senior food and beverage management experience, preferably handling multiple outlets, and diverse concepts.

Food and Beverage “front of the house” management experience with demonstrated knowledge.

Extensive knowledge of Restaurant, Bar/Lounge, and Event operational procedures.

Financial management skills e.g., ability to understand, create and manage operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling.

Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., associates, customers, vendors.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and a consistent display of professionalism.

Computer literate with MS Office applications and excellent understanding of POS systems.

Innovative, detail oriented, and quality conscious.

Certifications as required to comply with provincial regulations.

Extensive knowledge about wine; Educational certification an asset.

Knowledge of liquor control procedures.

Training in management and employee development required.

Continuous training and education to keep abreast of changes in the industry and external environment.

University or Hospitality Diploma, preferred.
