Director of Marketing for a growing Casino and new Hotel Complex

Our client is a well-known Casino, located in Montreal.

The Casino features sophisticated table games including over 80 poker tables and over 400 Electronic Gaming Devices. The casino is recognized by poker players internationally as one of the world’s premier poker destinations. The Casino features premier entertainment events and a 160 seat restaurant.

A brand-new 100 room Hotel, including 4 additional Food & Beverage outlets and a new entertainment center is planned for opening in Fall 2022.

Short overview:

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Director with Casino experience to join our team. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of the overall marketing plans and overall brand management of the company.

The Marketing Director will oversee the integration of traditional & digital advertising, direct mail, social media, public relations, and brand marketing to drive occupancy and revenue in the gaming, entertainment, hotel, and food & beverage departments at the Casino.

The ideal candidate holds a background in casino marketing and public relations as well as exemplifying outstanding leadership, business development and management skills.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years in marketing management role including experience in a Casino Marketing role.

Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing or public relations

Experience working on projects from narrative, campaign, product, web and branding assignments

Ability to work on numerous projects at one time

Proven illustration, typography and mixed media compositing skills

Experience developing creative concepts that are engaging and unique, implementing editorial direction

Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills

Strong computer knowledge – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Collaborative skills — has proven experience working creatively with marketers, content strategists, copywriters, producers and other graphic designers to achieve concept goals

Knowledge of French language a strong asset

Searching for an experienced Director, Sales and Marketing.

Our client is one of the leading commercial and residential real estate companies, in the Canadian northern hemisphere. The holdings include hotels, conference centers, shopping mall, retail stores, residential apartment units and townhomes.

The Scope:

The Director, Sales and Marketing is responsible for maximizing market share, growing revenues, and enhancing positive awareness of the company’s Hotels and Residential/Commercial Real Estate.

The position is located in the head office in Edmonton and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Short Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Director Sales and Marketing to join the team in Edmonton. The Director reports to the COO on a day-to-day basis.

The DOSM is accountable for results and reports to the VP-Hotels and the GM-Commercial real estate, working as a team to achieve the revenue objectives for all properties. This position also involves regular collaboration with the President as well as the CEO.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding annual sales targets.
  • Understanding of our key market segments and how to sell to them (business, leisure, transient, group and tour).
  • Experience with the development of strategic plans.
  • Effective computer skills and experienced in MS Office, property management systems, analytics, and related sales and marketing software applications.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing and sales, with at least 4 years at the strategic level preferably in either the hospitality/hotel or property management industry.
  • University Degree in Marketing, Business Administration and/or in Hotel Management (preferred)
  • Northern experience is an asset.
  • Commercial and residential Real Estate Leasing experience is an asset
