High Volume environment experience required.  Experience Union environment preferred. Red Seal or equivalent required. Excellent communication skills an asset.

We are currently seeking an energetic Operations Supervisor with strengths in food production logistic functions and an understanding of the particular demands of excellent service standards. Our client is a very large well known International Foodservice Company. This position is for the Vancouver, British Columbia location.

SHORT JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Manager of Operations this position is responsible for all aspects in the operations department including training, planning, assigning, directing and managing work while adhering to company policy and procedures. Also focusing on how to reduce labour cost and promote workplace safety.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Valid driver’s licence Class 5, and able to meet security clearance requirements for Ramp Access. (Maintain RAIC & DA)
• Must be able to supervise workforce including; coaching, directing, motivating and progressive discipline as necessary.
• Motivated self-starter with good communication skills.
• Process oriented with good organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent Customer Relations skills.
• Good command of English, written and spoken.

The Executive Chef / Director F&B directs and organizes the kitchens, food productions and all Food & Beverage function within the Resort. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of all food productions & kitchen operations.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of all Food & Beverage operations.
  • Responsible for scheduling and payroll for the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Budgetary, projections, and cost control skills to be applied to the daily operations of the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Responsible for all departmental hiring, training, evaluations and diplomacy actions.
  • Work with Marketing & Advertising to promote Resort Food and Beverage outlets.
  • Acquire and maintain relationships e.g., associates, customers, vendors.
  • Create, manage and implement departmental policies & procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance of safety and sanitation standards and policies.
  • Ensuring staff are ASIP certified.
  • Understand security requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 Years experience as a Executive Chef in a high Volume, multiple outlet Food & Beverage environment

  • Food and beverage “front of the house” management experience with demonstrated knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of Restaurant, Bar/Lounge, and Kitchen operational procedures.

  • Experience in a Ski Resort setting a definite asset.
  • Training in management and employee development required.
